The blood donation is a social related term as it is ailing the human community. To donate blood means that you are saving life, becoming a savior of mankind.Donating the blood literally means blood transfusion, that is injecting one's blood into others body. There is nothing to worry after donating the blood, in fact it reduces the total amount of toxic substances inside our body. It means that the blood is getting purified and more oxygen flows into our body. After donation the blood can be used in three ways. firstly, it is stored in blood banks and used for unknown patient. secondly, for a known person, immediate and the direct way. thirdly, to oneself by removing blood from the body and getting it in after surgeries. I have donated blood for four times during my college days. Blood donation can be done periodically with a minimum of three months gap.

Most of us know the connections between smoking and diseases. Immediately, we think of lung cancer cause it is the major one that occurs due to smoking. But more than this there is a connection between smoking and cancer involving many more parts of the body than just the lungs. Every part of the body is affected by smoking and are listed below :

* Smoking causes cancer in the reproductive system of both male and female.

* Smoking causes cancer in mouth and throat and sometimes causes the tongue to contract.

* Smoking causes cancer in kidneys, larynx, head, neck, breast (in both men and women), and liver.

* Smoking causes poisoning of the blood.

How does smoking affect all other parts??

The answer is very simple. The cigarettes contain nicotine which is toxic in nature, which is absorbed very quickly and easily in the bloodstream. The blood of course reaches every pore and every cell of your body, and because of this, those toxins are carried to every part of the body as well. The blood, which should be delivering fresh oxygen and nutrients to these parts of the body, is now acting as a supply agent for this poison. In this way, there is a connection between them of virtually every part of the body.

So Friends let us take an oath to quit smoking which will stop the degradation in our body and also makes the environment healthier.

It is said that "Charity Begins at Home" but for actor suriya its "Charity Begins at home, but it shouldnt end there". yes, the actor is now getting busy in his father's Sri Sivakumar Educational Trust.He is a great actor and now he is growing more humble in nature by giving charity to the poor and needy. The trust was founded in the year 1979 on the eve of his father's 100 th film. The latest news from him is that he has planned to launch free tuition centres for the poor students and is having talks with the government regarding it.Rupees twenty five lakhs has been announced for the good education for the poor and needy children.I pray go for his prosperous future and wish him success in his up coming film VARANAM AAYIRAM. He is not only hero in cinemas but in real life too. He deserves it.

chaos theory and the butterfly effect...

I hope every one had seen the movie called Dasavatharam. In the starting Kamal Hassan introduces people about the chaos theory and the butterfly effect.The chaos theory is all about the dependence of a dynamic system upon initial states. The dynamic system depends upon time or works with respect to time. The dynamic systems like weather etc can be taken as good example. It means that whatever change that happens in the weather is not random in nature and it is determined by the states of the initial conditions.

In the movie, tsunami comes due to the earth plate movements under the sea. But initially its the statue of the God which had submerged years ago had initiated the action, proving the chaos theory.

Coming to the butterfly effect, you would have seen a butterfly tapping its wings. The effect says that the tapping of butterfly wings in one direction would initiate or cancel or accelerate a tornado.This does not literally mean that a butterfly is responsible for tornado the kinetic energy of a tornado in no way can be compared with that of the butterfly, but the initial states that would lead a tornado is determined by the butterfly. This is what the butterfly theory is and is interrelated with chaos theory.

The tapping on one direction would initially vary the states of a dynamic system(formation of a tornado)hence affecting it indirectly.

The above question is a desire in every cricketing nation. Why cant cricket be included in the Olympics? The answer is that this sport is famous with only ten to fifteen nations. So it is yet to be popular across the world unlike the other events. Another problem in hosting cricket in Olympics is that it has got different formats and it is time consuming.

If cricket has to be included, considering the above criteria, twenty-twenty suits the most. The success of Indian premier league had made the game to popularize a bit. Moreover it has brought a huge wealth. So let us hope that the Olympic authorities will end up with a positive decision. Though cricket has been played across many countries as a weekend entertainment, it lies in each and every country to make this game more popular. So every one play the sport and make it popular.

The power of 21…

It is said that “old habits die hard”, which means that it is pretty hard to change your habits, your way of life, your behavior. But its necessary for us to change every moment in life in order to be a better person day by day. Cause changes are inevitable in life. An optimistic person does stick to this rule. In order to change it is necessary to change our habits. But here lies the question as how to change when such a strong proverb has been put forth by our ancestors.

The answer lies here, the “21 days’ magic”. It has been statistically proved that if a person practices a thing or habit for about 21 days continuously, then he gets attached to the same even after those 21 days gets over. The habit gets registered in his subconscious mind such that it drives the person to do the same thing day after day. There could be a positive thing or a negative one. If a person wants to have a positive result in life will feel the effect after 21 days and on the other hand, it has very bad effects for negative perspectives. So it is in our hand to choose the best.

Initially it would be a bit difficult for us to try and do things for 21 days continuously but later it will be normal. All we need is the “self control” factor to do these things. I have seen a lot of changes in me and in my attitude when I have followed this theory. So people keep “the change” in you for a better future. Stay transformed through every positive means.

The new Olympic hero for India...

At last, the great Indian dream has come true as ABHINAV BINDRA, struck a gold medal in the event of 10m air riffle in the Beijing Olympics. Every one in India were awestruck, when they saw Bindhra’s performance shooting all ten shots with more than ten points and the final one was exactly a bulls eye hit. It had ended the 28 years of India’s thirst for a gold medal and also the first ever gold in a single player event.

Bindhra had been working hard for this event for about 15 years. All the players in the Indian campaign were happy and felt that this would lift up everyone’s spirit to do well in their events. I feel this would truly open up all the blockages that the world has put on India’s sporting spirit and also it would greatly turn government’s attention to focus upon sports other than cricket which had already gained enough recognition.

The piezo-effect in traffic management…

We all know what is meant by the piezo electric effect. When mechanical vibrations or stresses are made upon some crystals they produce electrical voltage as the output and this is what piezo-electric effect means and the crystal is known as the piezo electric crystal. This electrical output is in the form of DC current and it is in the range of millivolts.

This millivolt output can be used for many applications. In the United States the government had used it for charging up their sensors upon the road sides.
The sound that comes from the vehicles, creates some form of mechanical stress upon the crystal and due to this process, some millivolt of output is got. This is used to charge up the storage battery in the sensor system which also requires voltage in terms of millivolt.
This shows important role is the subject of applied physics is playing in our every day’s life.

The Umpire referral system - "most welcome".

The world of cricket has seen many new formats and with them many new systems like power plays, free hits etc,. like wise we have the umpire referral system, which i have already explained about it in the previous posts. It has been introduced in the test series between India and Srilanka as just a trial.

In my opinion the referral system has to be applied to each formats of the game since umpires are also a part of every game and there can be many ways that they might go in for wrong decisions. nobody is perfect and as a human, umpires do lag in certain things that may lead them to give a wrong decision. so its nice to see this kind of system in cricketing world.

It was August Eighth at eight past eight Pm, that the world had witnessed historic moment that had happened ever before in the world of sports and that is the BEIJING 2008 OLYMPICS. It is the twenty ninth Olympics happening in our world. And this time China has done every thing in perfect manner. china's seven years of hard work got its recognition when every applauded for the way the Chinese performers put forth the show and also hats off to the architects who made the bird's nest (national stadium, china).

The birds nest witnessed about 91,000 people on this friday with 80 VIP'S across the globe that include Mr. Bush and Mrs. Sonia Gandhi (which i have witnessed so far).the number of participating nations were 204 in number and about 10500 participants have stormed into China, fighting for the total of 302 medals in 28 sporting events.

China has spent about $43 billion completely outplaying the $15 billion dollar worth Athens 2004.It has been statistically predicted that china could be the second nation that could challenge the united states next to Russia in the medals tally.my support is for china since it is always nice to support hard working and the truly spirited nation and also the home team too.

Exercise is good for health. This i what we know from our olden days.It gives some kind of physical work to the body and keeps us fit. The expansion and contraction of the muscles gives structured body and also helps in increasing the stamina of the body.

Body building, developing muscles, cuts, abb development are all a part of gym activities.But recently one fashion has emerged, which have made every one especially the youths, go crazy for it and its the " Six pack Abbs Fever".

The moment shahrukh khan went unraveled in his film "Om Shanthi Om" for the song called "darde Disco", made every one to adopt this six pack culture. Many cinema stars are exercising vigorously for developing this six pack abbs. Especially suriya in his much awaited " vaaranam aayiram" has developed a great physic. Vishal too in the movie called satyam went unraveling.

Its always nice to see new things happening in cinema as the actors are turning like the characters in the movie. There are many ways in which six pack abbs can be achieved but the best way is to follow the tips of a gym master or physios. One great advantage is that the person stops eating too much when he goes for 6 pack which is good news for his home mates.

Exnora is an organization that deals with carrying on social activities. Now, the organization has come out with a campaign creating awareness amongst people about global warming and its effect. Many schools, colleges, medias, IT sectors have given their support.

I too got this information personally from an employee of Exnora. I think you all may know what global warming is. It is about rise in the temperature of the earth due to pollution. The effects are drastic due to this global warming. The company is doing this sought of work to gain momentum to call for actions against the global warming.

As an acknowledgment, the company asks people to switch off lights in their home on 8th of August 2008 exactly at 8 pm for about 8 minutes. Hence they call this one as “88888 lights out” campaign. I really acknowledge this kind of work. People, let us join this campaign and fight against this problem and start using only eco-friendly products which is the only way to limit this problem.

Part time jobs are always fun…

The word ‘part time’ job has become famous nowadays as many of us are willing to earn more than what we get. What part time jobs can give is it enhances one’s ability of doing work and also makes a person to understand his own potentials. Recently, I went to many part time jobs. Event management is one which I liked the most. Since it does not require any investments. I think many of us will know what event management means. Each day I had different kind of experiences. Met different people, got lot of contacts, got lot of friends and came to know lot about the outside world.

Some jobs might be a little hard or boring but some are really interesting. You people will find it out when you get used to it. Mostly the college students are attracted towards the event management jobs, cause they find it suitable since it requires only few hours to do a day’s work. Also a good amount of money is earned through it which could serve them better than their pocket money from home.

My perspective towards part time is like this it gives you experience that leads to learn lot of things in life, meet different kind of people, get interactions with many. Even students going abroad can also go for these kinds of jobs and get some good exposure since they might work on a part time basis there. It gives them experience. So people, if any one asks you to come for an event management kind of job, if possible don’t hesitate, go for it and enjoy!!!

The umpire referral system:

The system of cricket has seen many new formats and rules. With the recent controversies upon the umpire’s decisions by the player has led the way to the new rule called “the referrer rule”. The International Cricket Council has announced the rule for the on going test series between India and Sri lanka on a trial basis, if successful, it may made permanent.

The rule goes like this either the batsmen or the captain of the fielding side may appeal for any three umpire’s decision if they were unsatisfied about the decision. Only three appeals are allowed per innings. In order to make an appeal the side’s player has to show a “t” sign by raising his forearms above his shoulders. Once the appeal has been made, the umpire consults with the third umpire for scrutinizing the incident and a final decision is made by the third umpire.

This system is welcomed by many teams as they feel that they could somehow stop the mishaps in the game due to umpire’s false decision.

Work and its secret is a lecture delivered by Swami Vivekananda to the people of the United States on January 4th 1900. He opens up a great principle in which he says that the greatest cause for failure is not paying enough attention to the means as to its end. Whenever you take a work, put your full concentration upon it and pay your fullest attention such that the work ends successfully. Simply get attached to whatever you do!

Next he emphasizes people to develop the attitude of getting detached from things with which they show their maximum attachment. The truth of life is ‘every thing happens as a matter of time’. When time comes every thing will leave us or we will give up every thing. So if we aren’t trained to get detached easily from things, we get ruined ourselves, we become slaves, slaves of our desires. But if we detach or give up, then joy alone prevails. So simply get attached to whatever you do and get detached from it whenever it is finished. Success will give pleasures but not the joy. Real joy is got when a person gets detached himself from his successful work.
